Mix Delta for iPhone · In development
Keep your soundcheck.
Capture a reference, check again, and see how the recorded sound changed.
Make a comparison
- Use your iPhone’s built-in microphone. Disconnect audio accessories and keep the microphone clear.
- Tap Capture Soundcheck, allow microphone access, and keep the app on screen for the 20-second capture.
- Return to the same position and hold the phone the same way. Tap Check Now while similar sound is playing. Replaying the same passage gives a more controlled comparison.
- Read the overall change, the largest band changes, or expand All frequency bands. Tap a saved check to view its details.
A comparison shows recorded differences, not their cause. Different music, crowd noise, phone position, and microphone limiting affect the result. Mix Delta does not recommend EQ, measure calibrated SPL, or establish safe listening levels.
Understand the results
A positive number means higher recorded energy; a negative number means lower recorded energy than the soundcheck. Overall change covers approximately 63 Hz–16 kHz. “Too quiet” means that a band had too little energy in one or both captures for a useful comparison.
The 1, 2, or 3 dB setting controls which changes are highlighted. It is a display preference, not a promise of measurement accuracy. A change in source volume can affect every band.
If a capture does not complete
- Permission denied: use the app’s Open Settings button and enable Microphone. Return to Mix Delta and try again.
- Too quiet or clipped: try again with a suitable source level. Very loud sound may be compressed by the phone before clipping is detected.
- Interrupted or microphone changed: return to the app, disconnect accessories, and retry. A changed microphone setup or iOS version may require a new soundcheck.
- Could not save: keep the app open and use Retry saving after freeing device storage. Discard unsaved capture removes that unsaved result.
- History cannot load: contact support before resetting if the saved history matters to you.
Manage one show
Mix Delta keeps one soundcheck and up to 200 checks locally. Starting a new soundcheck asks for confirmation, then permanently clears the current show. History is excluded from backups. Deleting the app also deletes its local history.
